Description:
Emergency responders in a variety of settings may be called on to respond to a wilderness search and rescue. The wilderness environment is defined as one in which the delivery of search and rescue services is adversely affected by the remoteness of the patient’s location, or the local infrastructure has been compromised. This class teaches emergency responders how to perform a size-up of wilderness search and rescue incident, recognize and mitigate common hazards, and participate in operations-level search and rescue activities.
