Rope Rescue Operations - High Angle (Open Enrollment)

This 8-hour program adds to the knowledge and skills learned in Rope Rescue Operations - Low Angle (16 hours). The high angle program will bring the student up to the full rope rescue operations level based on NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications (2021 edition).
Students will learn about rope characteristics, knots, anchors, belays, mechanical advantage systems, patient packaging techniques, and other rope rescue systems and concepts. Students will utilize these skills in high angle scenario-based evolutions. The skills learned in this class are truly the “bread and butter” of rope rescue.
Note: This is a blended learning course. Students are required to have already completed the online material and low angle practical skills training prior to October 10.
Class will run from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center (351 Snyder Avenue, West Chester, PA 19381).
Students must bring their own class III rescue harness, rescue helmet, rope gloves, and safety glasses to class. If you are unable to bring any of this equipment, please email us.
Students must have already completed the Rope Rescue Operations (Blended Learning) online material and the Rope Rescue Operations - Low Angle practical skills training.
Students that have completed equivalent training through another training provider may request an exception by emailing us. Determination of equivalency is at the sole discretion of Elder Technical Rescue Services, LLC.
