Why is your Paramedic Refresher 32 hours?
Our program is based on the National Component of the Paramedic National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) and is designed to be offered over four days. The National Component of the NCCP consists of 30 hours of continuing education. Our program exceeds the National Component by 2 hours.
Will this satisfy all of my continuing education hours?
If you are a PA DOH certified Paramedic, you are responsible for completing 36 hours (27 clinical) of continuing education every two years. This program gives you 32 hours (26 clinical). You will still be responsible for completing 4 hours (1 clinical) to complete your state requirements.
If you are a Nationally Registered Paramedic, you are responsible for completing 60 hours of continuing education every two years (30 hours National Component, 15 hours Local/State Component, and 15 hours Individual Component). This program will give you all 30 hours of the National Component, and an additional 2 hours that can be put towards another section. For additional information, visit the NREMT web site.
My Nationally Registered Paramedic certification is lapsed, will this help me get it back?
If you did not complete your recertification application on time and lost your NRP certification less than 2 years ago, this program will allow you to obtain an authorization to test to regain your national certification. You must still hold a current state certification. For more details, visit the NREMT web site.
I failed the Nationally Registered Paramedic cognitive exam three times and require remedial training, will this course satisfy that requirement?
According to the NREMT, if you fail your cognitive exam three times you must complete remedial training consisting of the National Component of the NCCP. Our program exceeds the National Component of the NCCP and thus satisfies that requirement.
