Trenching and Excavation Awareness

Online Course

Course Description:

Between 2011 and 2016, an average of 22 workers in the United States lost their lives in trenching and excavation accidents every year. These deaths were preventable. Workers must understand the hazards associated with trenches and excavations in the workplace. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to identify trenching and excavation hazards, the requirements of OSHA 1926 Subpart P, protective systems, and the roles and responsibilities of the trench competent person. Lastly, the student will be able to identify the actions that first responders at the awareness level can take when responding to a trench rescue incident.
