This class teaches the fundamentals of rope rescue at the operations level. Students will learn about rope characteristics, hardware used in rigging, knots, anchors, belays, mechanical advantage systems, patient packaging techniques, and other rope rescue systems and concepts. Students will utilize these skills in low angle and high angle scenario-based evolutions. The skills learned in this class are truly the “bread and butter” of rope rescue.
This class teaches fundamental confined space rescue principles and skills. Students will learn about OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, confined space hazards, atmospheric monitoring, patient assessment & packaging, extrication techniques, and more. Hands-on evolutions in simulated confined spaces will incorporate both horizontal and vertical rescue techniques.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers teaches students how to recognize a life-threatening cardiac emergency, how to provide basic life support, and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. This is the professional level CPR and AED certification approved for Emergency Medical Technicians.
